While phone use is generally frowned upon during school hours, students at one San Antonio high school were probably glad to have theirs out when a famed wrestler and influencer stopped by.
Logan Paul, the social media jokester-turned-pro-wrestler, made a surprise visit to Holy Cross of San Antonio on Monday, March 16, ahead of his appearance at WWE Monday Night Raw at the Frost Bank Center. According to a Facebook post by the Catholic high school, “Ahead of his pro wrestling match tonight, The Maverick @loganpaul came to Holy Cross for some rock-paper-scissors, motivation, selfies, and scholarships.”
A spokesperson for the school told MySA that Paul volunteered to speak at the school “after taking interest in the community through an alumni connection.” According to the spokesperson, Paul pledged a $10,000 college scholarship to two students during his visit and “expressed his admiration for Holy Cross of San Antonio as a school that prioritizes values, ‘constantly takes on much bigger opponents’ and ‘exemplifies the American dream.'”
According to the school’s spokesperson, while addressing the students, Logan said, “When I was your age, I knew that if I really focused and committed and worked hard that I could set myself up for the rest of my life… and I was right!’ … Finally, he called on the students to embrace their self-confidence, concluding with a resounding. ‘¡Sà se puede!'”
In a TikTok, Holy Cross senior Leena Garcia documented the visit, writing, “My life cannot be real.” Paul can be seen high-fiving students, climbing into the stands, giving a speech and hyping up the crowd. Garcia’s video racked up nearly 60,000 views in a matter of hours, and it left fellow students and San Antonians scratching their heads.
One commenter wondered why Paul picked Holy Cross “out of all schools.” Others said it’s the type of thing that happens “the one day [I] miss” class.

Logan Paul jumps from controversial influencer to pro wrestling star
Logan Paul and his younger brother Jake Paul, also a wrestler, both rose to fame on the now-defunct Vine app by posting short comedic clips and amassing a loyal audience. After the app shut down in 2017, the two shaped a different brand on YouTube – vlogging, forming content houses and frequently recording diss tracks about each other and fellow influencers.
Both have frequently found themselves embroiled in controversy over the years, most infamously when Logan filmed inside Japan’s Aokigahara Forest, also known as the “suicide forest.” Since 2018, Logan has hosted the Impaulsive podcast, and his WWE debut came a few years later in 2021. In the years since, he’s become a staple for wrestling fans, going on to win the WWE United States Championship in 2023.
