San Antonio Police officer in critical condition after being hit by suspected drunk driver

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio Police officer is in the hospital after being hit by a car as he was leaving work.

This happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on East Houston Street near East Commerce.

We’re told the officer was leaving the East Side substation on his motorcycle when another driver hit him.

The officer was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

The driver is being assessed for DWI.
