WASHINGTON (TNND) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Wednesday that a Michigan orthodontist got 60 years in prison for child exploitation.
“U.S. citizen Thomas Shannon, 44, was sentenced for exploiting numerous 12- to 17-year-old children online between 2019 and 2024,” ICE wrote on X. “Police discovered his crimes when a NC 16-year-old reported being sexually exploited on Snapchat.”
Homeland Security Investigations found at least 16 other child victims, with one of them being 12 years old.
“Another child victim Shannon met and exploited through a different app came forward while he was already on bond for child sexual abuse material charges,” ICE said. “His yacht, where he committed these crimes, was forfeited as part of the prosecution.”
Earlier this week, ICE announced that a Florida resident pleaded guilty to distributing videos of monkey sexual abuse.
Earlier this month, Francisco Javier Ravelo pleaded guilty to distributing videos of adult and baby monkeys being mutilated and physically tortured, according to an ICE investigation.
“Ravelo created and administered online chat groups dedicated to torturing monkeys — in violation of the federal animal crushing statute,” ICE said.
