Galleria Dallas is losing an anchor store in Nordstrom, which will close on May 16 after three decades in the shopping center
The upscale department store chain opened its store in Galleria Dallas on March 22, 1996.
“We believe we’ll be best able to serve customers in the area by leveraging our surrounding stores and through our digital channels. Decisions like this are never easy, and we understand the impact they have on our team members. We’re committed to taking care of our employees through this transition, including supporting those who are interested in finding another role within Nordstrom,” a Nordstrom spokesperson said in a statement.
Nordstrom shoppers will still be able to visit stores at NorthPark Center and Stonebriar Centre, as well as 10 Nordstrom Rack stores in the area.
“While we are disappointed to see them go, we remain energized by the momentum of what’s ahead. With eight exciting new retailers just announced — including Aritzia — and even more to come, Galleria Dallas continues to evolve in exciting ways,” a Galleria Dallas spokesperson said.
Galleria Dallas recently announced the opening of gift store Rolife, jewelry store Helzburg 1915, and Urban Planet by Charlotte Russe. Streetwear brand Watson, shoe store Kids Foot Locker, and bakery Patissery are set to open soon.
The Nordstrom spokesperson said that the pending closure of the Galleria Dallas store comes after the brand saw sales grow to an all-time high of $15.9 billion in 2025.
