The Prosper Eagles will face off against the Plano West Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Prosper will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn’t score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Princeton on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday’s blowout was nothing new.

Peyton Moya made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter’s box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Prosper let Ava Van Volkenburgh and Reese Bruno run wild. Van Volkenburgh went 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI, while Bruno got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That’s the most RBI Bruno has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Bella Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plano West). Everything went their way against Princeton on Friday as they made off with a 17-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolves needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Like Prosper, Plano West also got a great game from a two-way player: Kendall Prowell. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Prowell has been consistent recently: she hasn’t tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brooke Reasoner was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Abby Jennings was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Plano West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. That’s the best OBP they’ve posted all season.

Prosper’s victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Plano West, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Thursday’s game will be a test for both teams’ pitchers. Prosper hasn’t had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it’s not like Plano West struggles in that department as they’ve averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Prosper came out on top in a nail-biter against Plano West when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We’ll have the answer soon enough.
