“As one of the premier host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Dallas is ready to take the global stage,” Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said. “This funding is a critical investment in public safety and ensures we have the resources, training, and coordination in place to deliver a secure and successful event.”

Dallas police said in a statement on Thursday that the department is working alongside local, state, and federal partners to prepare for the influx of visitors from around the world.

The funds will strengthen the department’s security operations and enhance the ability of Dallas police to protect both residents and guests, DPD officials said.

“We take great pride in serving this city, and we are committed to showcasing Dallas as a safe, welcoming, and world-class destination,” Chief Comeaux said.
