AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team returns home for two matches against ranked opponents this weekend. The Cyclones face No. 19 UCF on Friday and No. 40 Houston on Sunday.

THE SERIES 

Friday will be the sixth matchup between the Iowa State and UCF, with the Knights leading the all-time series 3-2, including three straight victories. 

Sunday will be just the third all-time meeting between the Cyclones and Cougars, with ISU taking both previous matchups in the past two seasons. 

LAST TIME OUT 

Iowa State went 0-3 in its Texas swing last weekend, falling to No. 44 Baylor and No. 19 TCU, before losing a hard-fought match to North Texas, 4-3. 

PLAYER TO WATCH 

Alicia Dale is undefeated in her last three singles matches, picking up two victories and leaving one unfinished. The freshman downed Baylor’s Gabby Villegas, 6-3, 6-3, and North Texas’ Giulianna Ciangherotti, 6-0, 7-6, to move above .500 in singles on the season.
