EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso’s dining scene is set to welcome a new addition this year as Texas de Brazil, a popular Brazilian-American steakhouse, prepares to open its doors in the city.
Known for its upscale dining experience and distinctive rodizio-style service, the restaurant will bring a blend of Southern Brazilian tradition and Texas hospitality to the region.
Texas de Brazil traces its origins back to Porto Alegre, Brazil, where one of its founders was inspired by the gaucho lifestyle—Brazilian cowboys who are known for preparing and enjoying large, open-fire feasts called churrasco.
According to the Texas de Brazil website, the restaurant is set to open in 2026, but does not state when or where.
Wanting to share this cultural dining experience with a broader audience, the concept was brought to the United States, with Texas serving as the perfect destination due to its deep-rooted cattle and steakhouse traditions.
The restaurant offers a unique, interactive dining experience centered around continuous tableside service.
Guests are invited to enjoy an extensive salad area featuring seasonal greens, roasted vegetables, imported cheeses, and cured meats. Alongside these offerings are traditional Brazilian sides such as house-baked cheese bread, garlic mashed potatoes, and fried bananas.
The highlight of the experience is the rodizio-style meat service. Diners use a small card—green to continue service, red to pause—while trained gaucho chefs circulate through the dining room carving a variety of meats directly at the table. Options typically include cuts of beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and Brazilian sausage, all slow-roasted over open flames to enhance flavor and tenderness.
In addition to its food, Texas de Brazil is also known for its beverage program, including its signature cocktail, the Caipirinha, a classic Brazilian drink made with cachaça, lime, and sugar.
An official opening date has not yet been announced.
