LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Nightmare on 19th Street combines scares with creative artwork to create a unique Halloween experience in the Hub City.
Co-owner Wes Nessman says there’s something for everybody.
The attraction features carefully crafted haunted houses designed with help from local artists.
“We had some incredible local artist to do this, a fella by the name of Lucky Rodriguez and his partner Jonathan and then we had another girl named Elise Arnold who did a specialty instillation,” Nessman said. “So once again it’s art, but that art distracts you while my creeps, creep up on you,” Nessman said.
Year-round planning to create new scares
Nessman said his team works on the attraction throughout the year, constantly developing new ideas and scares.
“And we have just as much fun as when people aren’t here, and when we are building things and dreaming up new ideas and planning new scares and corpsing skeletons, and doing all the fun stuff we do from building bridges to cutting trails and setting post, we love it all. We work on this thing all year long,” Nessman said.
Nessman said his favorite part of running the attraction is serving the community and providing entertainment.
“The most important thing for everybody to remember is after somebody gets scared, they laugh, you will hear it every single time,” Nessman said. “We’re providing something fun and different for this town and it’s just so very important,” he said.
