Firefighters are investigating after flames engulfed and collapsed a Lake Dallas home Thursday. The cause remains unknown.
LAKE DALLAS, Texas — Firefighters are working to contain a house fire that fully engulfed and collapsed in Lake Dallas Thursday evening.
Around 7:05 p.m., multiple units with the Lake Cities Professional Fire Fighters Association responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Moseley Street. When the first engine arrived, the department said the single-family home was completely engulfed in flames.
One person was located and transported to the hospital for treatment, but the extent of the person’s injuries is currently unknown., city officials said. It’s also unclear how many people were inside the home at the time.


Air medical support was launched to the scene as crews worked to gain control of the fire, officials said.
Mutual aid from neighboring departments was also dispatched, including the Highland Village Fire Department and the Lewisville Fire Department.Â
Officials are asking the public to avoid the area while crews continue working on the scene.
Just two days earlier, firefighters handled two gas leaks in the same part of Lake Dallas. Whether those are linked to Thursday’s fire remains unclear.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
