The new restaurant soft-opened on Thursday in Webster’s Flyway mixed-use district, which is under construction next to Great Wolf Lodge.

WEBSTER, Texas — Brazilian steakhouse Gauchos do Sul is opening a new location in Webster after closing its restaurant in the Highland Village shopping center.

The new restaurant soft-opened at 5 p.m. March 19 at 415 Royal Tern Way in Webster’s Flyway mixed-use district, which is under construction next to Great Wolf Lodge.

The Webster opening marks Gauchos do Sul’s move from its River Oaks-area location, which closed earlier this month after five years, said Sergio Cabrera Jr., vice president at Cabrera Brothers Restaurant Group.

The River Oaks restaurant was located on the third floor at 3995 Westheimer Road in Highland Village and had issues with parking and the elevators, he said. In addition, the space there was rented.

“We always try to buy land and own it ourselves,” Cabrera said. “So when we had the opportunity, … we decided … to get the land instead and relocate here.”
