One person was killed, and two others were hospitalized after multiple shots were fired into a vehicle carrying four people in East Dallas late Thursday, authorities said.
Dallas police responded just after 11 p.m. to the 4500 block of South Fitzhugh Avenue, near Fair Park.

According to sources, a person known to the victims had been driving erratically in an attempt to force the victims’ vehicle to stop, WFAA reported. Once it did, the suspect opened fire on all four people inside. Investigators are examining whether the shooting stemmed from a possible road rage encounter.
Family members at the scene told reporters an uncle had been riding with his nephews in the car at the time of the incident.
A police drone was observed mapping the area overnight as detectives asked nearby businesses to check surveillance video for clues. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said more details would be released as they become available.
