The HSL Youth Foundation, Inc. operates a coed, sleepaway camp for children aged 7-14 up at the Hilltop Camp Site in Comfort nestled in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas.
Our mission is to provide a quality, safe, and caring summer camp program that develops healthy friendships and enriches the lives of both campers and staff by fostering self-esteem and independence through exposure to new experiences, group living and play.
During their week-long adventure at Hilltop Camp, campers participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities under the caring guidance of our trained staff. HSL offers an elective free-choice program with more than 25 daily activities ranging from swimming to field sports, high rope adventure activities to crafts. Add singing, dancing and fun nightly activities that blend with past traditions and there is certainly something for everyone!
Campers and counselors live in air-conditioned cabins complete with showers, toilets, and sinks. Campers sit with their dorm roommates for all meals which are served cafeteria-style in our air-conditioned dining hall. Three meals and two snacks are provided daily.
Hermann Sons Life Camp works to ensure the safest possible summer camp experience. In addition to being an American Camp Association Accredited Camp that meets and exceeds ACA standards, we conduct strict annual reviews of our operating and emergency procedures.

Sherwood Forest campers have a rare opportunity to try their hands at crafts and skills that are no longer widely taught. Perhaps your child is a natural in the smithy? Perhaps they are made for the stage, but haven’t had a chance to be in a play before? It amazing what new things our youth can learn when you take away the distractions of the modern world and put them in contact with a skilled instructor.
Weeklong sessions in June and July for campers ages 8-16 include blacksmithing, leatherworking, adventuring, dance, music, horsemanship, archery, theatre, swordplay and so much more that will be sure to supply a lifetime of joyful memories.
