William Clark Green, who has been making music for more than 15 years, reflected on his Texas roots and the journey that’s shaped his sound and storytelling over the years. “My fans were the college kids when I started 17 years ago, and I feel like we’ve all grown together. We’re on the same path now — marriage, kids, and those different stages of life. This record is definitely more mature and reflects that.”

His latest project, Watterson Hall, marks a deeply personal era, influenced by family and the place that inspired its name. “Watterson Hall is in Red Rock, Texas, about 15 minutes south of Bastrop, on the way to Rosanky. It’s a dance hall my wife introduced me to — her grandparents danced there, her parents danced there, she danced there, and it’s still there now. This record is all about meeting my wife and starting a family, so it was the perfect title.”

That shift in perspective also changed the way he approached songwriting. “That was the scary part, honestly, because I was so used to writing about the demise of relationships. That was kind of my go-to. So it was weird writing for this record, but like my mom said, follow your heart — it never steers you wrong. I just wrote what I knew, and that’s been my wife and starting my family over the last five years.”

William Clark Green is also celebrating a big year on the road, including a tour alongside Treaty Oak Revival. “It’s been a great year. We’re out on tour with Treaty Oak Revival— I wrote the title track with Sam Canty, their lead singer — and they’ve really made some dreams come true. We’re enjoying the tour and playing some really great shows, and I think it all reflects on the record and the team we’ve built.” Courtesy: RobertChavers{p}{/p}William Clark Green is also celebrating a big year on the road, including a tour alongside Treaty Oak Revival. “It’s been a great year. Fans have been connecting with this new chapter, as the music reflects a shared stage of life for many longtime listeners. “I feel like we’re all in the same place in life now. My original fans have grown up with me, and this record meets them there. It’s definitely a more mature record, and I think it translates.”

From iconic venues to career milestones, William Clark Green says everything is coming together in a big way this year. “We get to play Red Rocks and the Greek Theatre in L.A., and I just finished the Grand Ole Opry last week. Things are really rolling in our favor this year, so we’re enjoying the tour and playing some really cool shows. I think it all reflects on the record and the team we’ve built around this. It’s been a really good year so far.”
