CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 40-year-old man accused of murdering a woman after police responded to a welfare check appeared in court Thursday, where a judge set bail at $1 million.
Christopher William Reynolds was arrested at the scene on Wednesday and taken to the City Detention Center, charged with murder.
During the hearing, Reynolds became disruptive after the judge appointed an attorney. He shouted that he did not want the judge handling his case, cursed, and had to be escorted back to jail. Extra security was called in.
The judge also ordered a mental evaluation for Reynolds before the case proceeds.
The victim has not yet been identified.
