What changes, if any, would you like to see to the city’s budget?
Friendswood must continue prioritizing essential services and infrastructure while maintaining conservative financial management. I support disciplined spending, long-term capital planning and maintaining strong reserves. As regional growth impacts our roads and services, we must ensure taxpayer dollars are directed toward safety, drainage, transportation improvements and core city functions.
What infrastructure projects would you like to see prioritized in the next term?
Improving traffic flow on FM 518 and surrounding corridors remains a priority, along with continued drainage upgrades and street maintenance. I support evaluating long-range transportation options that strengthen evacuation capacity and emergency access while respecting the character of our city and the safety of our community.

Friendswood should focus on attracting quality, community-compatible businesses that enhance our tax base without compromising our character. What will be your biggest priority if elected?
Challenging the status quo matters. Friendswood is a great place to live and raise a family, yet many residents, including myself, are concerned about our direction. I’m probusiness, and growth is fine, but only the right kind of growth will preserve the Friendswood we love and choose to remain in.

Just because you can tax or borrow doesn’t mean you should. Working toward reducing the overall budget with the goal of lowering property taxes for everyone.
What infrastructure projects would you like to see prioritized in the next term?
Flood mitigation. Development impact and big picture long-term projects are both priorities. We must continue to work with all our partners, including [Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District], to maximize these investments. New sidewalks for safety, not just downtown, are a concern. The backlog of aging street and sidewalk repairs in our neighborhoods is another.

Friendswood does not need to pay businesses to locate in Friendswood. Our unmatched public safety and local economy make Friendswood a first choice for business just as it is for residents. Developers/owners can provide incentives to buy/lease their property – not the taxpayers.
Would you support the city going for a bond to address the city’s recreational needs?
It depends on the need and who benefits from it. I will do my research and offer insights. More important than how I view going into such debt is how the taxpayers feel about it. Put the propositions on standalone bond issues in unbiased language. Let the voters decide.
