A San Patricio County jury sentenced a man to 174 years in prison after convictions on charges including child sexual assault, trafficking and exploitation.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A San Patricio County jury sentenced a Houston man to 174 years in prison on Friday after convicting him on multiple felony charges involving the sexual assault and exploitation of a child, according to District Attorney Margie Silva.
“In San Patricio County we will not tolerate the trafficking and sexual exploitation of children,” Silva told 3NEWS. “Predators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”Â
According to Silva, Samuel Rocky Munoz was found guilty on several counts, including aggravated sexual assault of a child, compelling prostitution of a minor and possession of child pornography.
Munoz was sentenced to 75 years in prison and fined $10,000 for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Additional sentences include 20 years for promoting prostitution of a person under 18, 20 years for compelling prostitution of a minor and 99 years for employing or inducing a child under 14 to engage in sexual performance.
Silva said Munoz also received 20 years for possession of child pornography, enhanced to a second-degree felony, and 75 years along with a $5,000 fine for an additional possession charge.
Counts one through six will run concurrently, while counts six and seven will run consecutively. The judge ordered the sentences to be stacked, resulting in a total of 174 years in prison.
