AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin airport is expecting over 22,000 departing passengers on Friday as the partial government shutdown continues.

The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport recommends travelers to arrive 2.5 hours before domestic departures and three hours before international flights.

AUS says that additional staff will be on-site to assist travelers.

Users on the r/Austin subreddit are reporting that lines are not looking bad as of 5:30 a.m., with one user saying that it only took them seven minutes to go through general TSA screening.
