HOUSTON — A man accused in a string of burglaries in the Montrose area has been arrested, Houston police announced on Saturday.
Editor’s note: The above video was published on March 6, when law enforcement was still searching for the suspect.
Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen earlier this month identified the suspect as 56-year-old Bobby John Henry. On Saturday, the Houston Police Department said Henry was arrested and charged with multiple felony burglary counts. He’s being held on a $250,000 bond.
“The central Houston ‘Spiderman’ burglar has been arrested,” HPD said on social media.
The constable’s office said Henry climbed through windows to get inside homes, where he searched for jewelry and then tried to sell the items for cash at pawn shops.
Investigators said the man looked for unlocked windows during the day. In some cases, he forced windows open or smashed the glass to get inside. In one video, the man was seen getting into a home through a doggy door.
Aside from the monetary value of the items stolen, in one case, investigators said Henry stole a gold high school ring from 1941.
The constable said the man was already wanted out of Travis and Milam counties for parole violations.
Henry is due in court on Monday.
