Houston police said they were called at about 3 a.m. on Feb. 28 to Radio Road just east of Hobby Airport for reports of two people shot. When they arrived, police said they found a woman in a ditch to the side of the road and a man in the middle of the road. Both had multiple gunshot wounds, and police said multiple shell casings were found at the scene.
Officials later confirmed the identities of the victims as Darrell Hall and India Thomas.
Thomas’ mother spoke with WMAR in Baltimore, telling the ABC affiliate that her daughter was in Houston to celebrate her 27th birthday. Thomas, along with Hall, was killed a day after her birthday, according to the mother.
The victim’s mother said that Hall was Thomas’ boyfriend and that she leaves behind two children.
Houston police said its homicide team is investigating and suspects foul play. Officials have not released any suspect information.
