SAN ANTONIO – As thousands of fans head to the Alamodome for Saturday night’s Zach Bryan concert, VIA Metropolitan Transit is offering an alternative to high parking costs and heavy traffic.
Parking near the Alamodome is expected to run around $60, but VIA’s Park & Ride service provides a more affordable option with discounted rides and parking at designated locations across the city.
The transit service will run Saturday, March 21, for the concert scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Riders can catch buses from Crossroads Park & Ride, Brooks Auxiliary Park & Ride and Stone Oak Park & Ride.
Service to the Alamodome will operate from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with return service available for one hour after the concert ends.
Round-trip Park & Ride fare costs $2.60, or $1.30 each way. Discounted fares are available at $1.30 roundtrip for children ages 5 to 13, seniors 62 and older, Medicare recipients, people with disabilities and students with a valid VIA ID.
VIAtrans customers and their companions or personal care attendants can ride free, and children ages 4 and under also ride free when accompanied by an adult. Seniors 62 and older with a valid VIA ID can ride free to weekend events.
