Two men were detained early Friday morning following a shooting on the south side of San Antonio, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 3:10 a.m. to the 2200 block of Roosevelt Avenue for reports of a shooting in progress. The victim, a 58-year-old man, told police he had stopped to assist the suspects after their vehicle was in a ditch.
During the interaction, the suspects allegedly became aggressive and a 23-year-old man fired a shot that struck the victim’s vehicle but missed him. Both suspects then fled on foot.

Police located and began detaining the suspects, with one suspect resisting arrest and physically assaulting an officer, causing bodily injury. A firearm was recovered from the resisting suspect during a search.
The San Antonio Police Department said the investigation is active and ongoing.
