A 21-year-old man was arrested after fatally shooting his 68-year-old grandmother at an Arlington apartment complex, police said.
Officers responded around 4:40 p.m. Friday to the 1800 block of Carriage House Circle, where a family member found the woman lying unresponsive on her apartment patio, according to the Arlington Police Department. She was covered with a blanket.
Paramedics determined the woman had been shot, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
During the investigation, detectives learned the woman and her grandson, identified as Rontrell Jackson, were involved in a heated argument that resulted in Jackson losing his allowance money, authorities said.
