One Plano restaurant was closed and had its permit suspended for a low score during the March 1-14 health inspections, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.

The city of Plano scores restaurants on a 100-point system, with 100 considered a perfect score and 70 extremely poor.

Yuan Foods at 2049 Coit Road scored 69 on March 11. The inspector found raw chicken breasts stored above produce in the walk-in cooler, another cooler wasn’t working properly and employees were preparing dough on a dirty table.

The city temporarily suspended Yuan Foods’ permit and required the facility to close until a follow-up inspection could be conducted.

Ten other food establishments scored below 80:

Mike’s Chicken at 3345 President George Bush Highway scored 71 on March 9. Some employees weren’t properly washing their hands, the cream gravy was stored at an unsafe temperature and several employees were wearing jewelry on their arms and hands while preparing food.Happy Lamb Hot Pot at 240 Legacy Drive scored 72 on March 6. There was no manager on site during the first part of the inspection, food debris was found on several of the tongs and knives and a spray bottle wasn’t labeled.Comfort Suites at 2301 E. President George Bush Highway scored 76 on March 12. The person in charge didn’t have an active certified food protection manager certificate, milk was left at the breakfast bar without a time stamp and egg products were being reheated in flimsy plastic containers.Brookdale Creekside at 2000 W. Spring Creek Parkway scored 78 on March 4. Some fish wasn’t held at a safe temperature, an employee was wearing a wrist watch while preparing food and some parts of the ice machine were dirty.Campisi’s at 8100 Dallas Parkway scored 78 on March 12. The restaurant’s posted permit was expired, raw calamari was stored over cooked noodles in the cooler and a mold-like substance was found in the nozzle of the frozen margarita machine.Pho Que Huong at 240 Legacy Drive scored 78 on March 13. An employee was eating while preparing food, a bicycle was stored in the kitchen and three workers hadn’t gone through an approved food-handler course.Rainbow Donuts at 1730 K Ave. scored 78 on March 4. Several employees weren’t washing their hands before putting on gloves, trays of sausage kolaches were sitting out without a time stamp and there were no paper towels at the hand washing sink in the women’s restroom.Golden Baili at 240 Legacy Drive scored 79 on March 3. The soap was almost out at one of the kitchen hand sinks, no food thermometer was available and a buildup of food debris was found on some of the equipment.Good Hand Tacos at 1116 W. Parker Road scored 79 on March 3. Some rice and cooked chicken were uncovered in the cooler, a bottle of stainless steel cleaner was stored above the bulk flour and rice in the dry storage area and the fan guards inside the reach-in cooler were dusty.Rainbow Teashop at 3801 W. President George Bush Highway scored 79 on March 9. The inspector noticed an expired permit on the wall, a slime coating on the ice chute of the ice machine and disposable cups stored on the floor.

The inspector found a dead roach in a freezer at Golden Baili. A live roach near the cook line and dead crickets inside a light shield were found at Señor Locos, located at 701 W. Parker Road.
