SAN ANTONIO – A major crash involving multiple vehicles shut down lanes along Interstate 35 on the city’s South Side early Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. in the 9000 block of IH-35 Southbound, near the Cassin Road bridge.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, a Ford F-150 traveling southbound at a high rate of speed rear-ended a Toyota Tacoma, pushing it into a grassy median and onto an access road. The pickup then struck a metal barrier on the bridge, blocking two lanes of traffic.
Moments later, a semi-truck crashed into the back of the Ford F-150.
The driver of the Ford F-150 left the area before emergency crews arrived.
