SAN ANTONIO — A dirt bike driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday evening near the downtown area.

The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. in the 600 block of Florida Street and Hoefgen Avenue.

Police said a man driving a dirt bike was traveling southbound on Hoefgen when a Mazda struck them at the intersection.

The Mazda was traveling westbound on Florida and stopped at the stop sign before entering the intersection. The Mazda driver did not see the other motorist and the two collided, police said.

The 38-year-old man was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene. The Mazda driver stayed on scene and was not found to be intoxicated, police said.
