Alyssa Traver had a big day as the Dallas softball team picked up its first win of the year.

The shortstop went 3 for 3, and Lacey Youngblood struck out four as Dallas beat Nanticoke Area, 15-5, in five innings Saturday.

Elliot Rigol and Emma Eick each drove in two runs, and Annie Osipower and Madeline DeSanto each had two hits in the win.

Traver had two doubles, while Osipower added a triple.

Natalyn Emel drove in two for Nanticoke, while Rilee Ruminski added a home run.

Mid Valley 4, Pittston Area 0: At Throop, Ava Hazelton carried a no-hitter deep in the game, and the Spartanettes put up runs in four of the first five innings to pick up the nonleague win Saturday afternoon.

Parker Bennett had two of the five Mid Valley hits, while Natalie Hricenak and Avery Tinney each drove in runs.

Hazelton allowed just two hits, while striking out nine in her first win of the year.

Gabby Roman and Jillian Haas had hits for Pittston Area, while Samantha Herbert struck out seven in the loss.

Baseball

Hanover Area 8, Berwick 0: At Berwick, Cam Kratz twirled a one-hitter as the Hawks blanked the Bulldogs.

Freshman Ryan Bennett led Hanover with three hits, including a triple, and two RBIs. Logan Richardson had a double and two RBIs, and Jayden Cruz added a triple and drove in one.

Derek McCabe had the lone hit for the Bulldogs.

Lake-Lehman 7, Western Wayne 3: At Pine Grove, the Black Knights had 14 hits as Lehman picked up the nonleague win over the Wildcats.

Devon Albee led the way for Lehman, going 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Chase Aten added three hits, while Will Jenkins, Tyler Sassi and Justin Morris each had two hits.

Andrew Morris picked up the win, throwing five innings of two-hit ball with four strikeouts.

Damian Glackin and Ale Decandis each had two hits for the Wildcats.

Hazleton Area 10, Liberty 4: At Hazleton, four Cougar pitchers held Liberty to two hits as Hazleton Area picked up the nonleague win.

Jack Esposito tossed three innings of middle relief to pick up the win, allowing no hits and striking out three.

Hazleton Area had 12 hits in the victory. Logan Hearity and Dom Marino each had two hits and two RBIs, while Chris Knelly had three hits, two runs and one RBI. LD Ventra added two hits, and Mason Eckert added a double.

Girls lacrosse

Wyoming Seminary 15, Wilkes-Barre Area 2: At Seminary, Nat DeNaples scored five goals to pace Seminary to the win over the Wolfpack.

Emerson Swartz finished with a hat trick, and Ryleigh McDonald and Ellie Kersey each scored twice. Sara Williams had a team-best three assists, and Swartz and Cali Gardner each had two.

Boys lacrosse

Liberty 11, Tunkhannock 2: At Liberty, Tunkhannock fell to Liberty in nonleague play.

Austin Werkheiser and Mason Berkhimer each had goals, while Werkheiser added an assist.

Jayden Thompson finished with eight saves for the Tigers.
