A teenage girl was injured Friday after being shot by a relative in her Arlington home, according to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV.
The girl was shot in her home along East Lynn Creek Drive, and two other children were present at the time of the shooting, police said. Erick Montgomery, 24, a member of the girl’s family, was arrested at the home.
Montgomery is charged with aggravated assault family violence with a weapon causing serious bodily injury, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and child endangerment due to the two children present at the time of the shooting, police said.
The girl was taken to a hospital for treatment. Montgomery is being held in the Arlington City Jail.
