Allen and Plano are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Allen is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

On Saturday, Allen made easy work of Rock Hill and carried off a 13-3 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Yahmadi Morgan made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn’t allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Morgan was also solid in the batter’s box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Allen got a massive performance out of Alyssa Jackson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kate Bettge, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Allen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they’ve now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in six consecutive games.

Plano came out on top against McKinney on Saturday thanks in part to the team’s impressive seven-run first inning. The Wildcats blew past the Lions 14-4. The Wildcats haven’t had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Ashley Johnston looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Darby DeJean was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Riley Miles was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Plano’s victory bumped their record up to 12-8-1. As for Allen, their win bumped their record up to 17-3.

Plano’s pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Allen has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.7 hits per game. It’s a different story for Plano, though, as they’ve been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Allen’s sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.

Allen was able to grind out a solid victory over Plano in their previous matchup back in February, winning 7-3. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
