Interment at Bend Sand Hill Cemetery in Bend, Texas on Thursday March 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Dennis Lee Scroggins, age 74, passed away on March 17, 2026, at his home in Wichita Falls, Texas. Dennis was born on October 16, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Jimmie Scroggins and his beloved wife, Glenda Jane Scroggins. He is survived by three siblings; Kent Scroggins, Gail Willmington, and Don Scroggins. Also by his five children and their spouses Joshua and Jennelle Scroggins, Sandy and Jeff Gary, Caleb and Gena Scroggins, Quinton and Sarah Scroggins, and Thaddaeus and Tiffany Scroggins; as well as 16 grandchildren. Dennis devoted 50 years of his life to preaching the Gospel. He began his preaching in the Fort Worth area before moving his family to Austin in 1979. There, he labored faithfully with the South Austin Church of Christ for 20 years. In 1999, he moved his family to Bend, Texas, where he worked with the Southside Church of Christ in Lometa. Recognizing the need for a congregation in nearby Lampasas, Dennis, alongside others, helped establish what would become the Avenue B Church of Christ-a congregation that continues to thrive to this day. Following the passing of his wife, Dennis continued his work in Lampasas with unwavering dedication. In 2023, he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where he began preaching for the Floral Heights Church of Christ. He remained active in his work there until his health no longer allowed him to continue, just one month before his passing. In addition to his local work, Dennis held numerous Gospel meetings across the United States and in Alberta, Canada, and also worked with congregations in Lithuania. His passion for sharing the Word extended beyond the pulpit, as he mentored and trained many young men who went on to become preachers themselves. Dennis loved the Lord deeply and spent his life in faithful service, striving to lead others to Christ. He will be remembered for his steadfast commitment, his servant’s heart, and the lasting impact he made on countless lives. His legacy of faith, family, and service will continue through all who knew and loved him.
