The pizza was never ordered by the man who lived at the corner of Sedona Lane and Dove Creek—someone else placed it, under his name, paid cash, kept the total under fifty dollars, and waited. On March 1, around 4 p.m., surveillance footage from across the street shows a figure in all black crouched behind a garage wall as the delivery arrived. When the man opened his front door, the gunman fired, fled on foot, then doubled back to shoot again.
“We believe this is a planned attack,” Detective Michael Bui told FOX 4. “The suspect searched the area, got the victim’s name to make the order online.” The victim was struck eight times but survived; Dallas Fire-Rescue had transported him to a local hospital in critical condition. Nearly three weeks later, police have little to work with. The victim’s own Ring doorbell failed to record, and the only video comes from a neighbor’s camera at a distance. What investigators do have is a silver 2024-2025 Chevrolet Trax seen leaving the area. “Somebody around this area, everybody has a camera,” Bui said, “and I’m asking the public to review their camera footage.”
