A man riding a motorcycle on Interstate 30 in Arlington Saturday night was shot in the leg after a driver pulled up next to him, police said.
Arlington police officers were driving eastbound on I- 30 near Ballpark Way about 9: 15 p.m. when they noticed a motorcycle on the shoulder and a man on the ground who “appeared to be in distress,” police said in a statement.
The officers stopped to help the man and discovered he had been shot in the leg, police said.
Police said officers provided first-aid and the man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The man told officers that he was riding his motorcycle east on I-30 when traffic ahead slowed, so he slowed down as well. The driver behind him started tailgating and flashing their lights at him, according to police.
The driver then changes lanes and pulled up next to him, displayed a gun and fired, striking the motorcyclist in the leg, police said of the apparent road rage incident.
The man moved onto the shoulder while the vehicle continued eastbound, police said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made in the shooting.
