GEORGETOWN, Texas — Police are searching Lake Georgetown for a man who went under the water and did not resurface Saturday evening.

Georgetown police say they were notified of a possible drowning at around 5:50 p.m. Saturday on the lake near Russell Park.

Witnesses reported that a man near a jet ski had gone under the water and never surfaced.

Police believe the man was not wearing a flotation device.

First responders have been searching the lake since Saturday evening. Police say the man has still not been located as of 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say recovery operations are continuing.

Responding agencies include the Georgetown PD/FD Dive Team, the Williamson County Dive Team, and the Texas Game Wardens.
