LSU football fans began chanting “Fire Kelly” during Saturday’s blowout loss to Texas A&M on what was a rough night for Brian Kelly and his LSU team.

The No. 3 Aggies’ lead over the No. 20 Tigers grew to 42-18 early in the fourth quarter and a social media video posted by Baton Rouge photographer Jonathan Plaza began making its rounds online.

The SEC on ABC broadcast crew called out LSU fans on the air for leaving early during the third quarter and booing the team throughout the night.

“LSU’s dreams died here tonight,” Chris Fowler said after Texas A&M increased the lead to 49-18.

“Fire Kelly” chants started in the LSU student section after Texas A&M took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Kelly is in his fourth season at LSU, and had a 34-13 entering Saturday’s blowout loss against Texas A&M.

Kelly’s name has mentioned for the Penn State football head coaching vacancy after the program fired James Franklin.

Fowler also mentioned the LSU fans’ growing frustration with the head coach before Herbstreit said it’s difficult to see Kelly getting fired anytime soon with a $53 million contract buyout clause in play.
