Live voting for “American Idol” opens Monday, March 23. Viewers can vote online for contestants, including El Paso singer Julian Kalel Almanzan, who is among the show’s top 20 performers.
Almanzan, 19, has advanced in the competition with performances featuring original music. Judges this season include Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan.
There’s a change in voting this season since the “American Idol” app has been retired. Voting is still happening online.
During the March 16 episode, viewers voted to determine which contestants from the first half of the Top 20 would advance. The remaining Top 20 performers are scheduled to appear during Monday’s Hawaii episode.
Host Ryan Seacrest will announce voting results from the March 16 and March 23 episodes during the season’s first live show on March 30, when the Top 20 will be narrowed to the Top 14. Those contestants will then perform for viewers’ votes, with two more eliminated by the end of the two-hour episode.

How to vote on American Idol
People can vote for Kalel on different platforms: Facebook, Instagram and TikTok by going to the official @AmericanIdol accounts. Find the pinned “Official Vote Post” and comment Julian. Make sure to post his name 10 separate times on each account.)
Voting opens at 6 p.m. MT./8 p.m. ET Monday, and closes at 4 a.m. MT/6 a.m. ET Tuesday, March 24.

Where to watch ‘American Idol’
“American Idol” airs at 6 p.m. MT/7 CT Monday on the ABC Network. “American Idol” Season 24 will be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
