HOUSTON (KTRE) – Former Woodville Lady Eagle Jade McQueen drove in a run as Texas Southern swept its doubleheader over Alcorn State on Saturday.
Texas Southern won the first game 8-0 and the second 3-2.
In the first game, McQueen started at first base and batted ninth. She went 1-for-3 with a run. For Alcorn State, Tatum’s Yahnya Acevedo started in left field and batted third. She went 0-for-2. In the second game, McQueen went 1-for-2 with an RBI. In the fourth inning, McQueen hit a single into right field to score Amerie Martin. For Alcorn State, Acevedo went 0-for-2 with a walk.
Texas Southern has won six games in a row to improve to 17-6 overall. The Tigers host Houston Christian on Tuesday.
