Ahead of the slated opening of famed French coffee chain, Café Feuillette this summer, Houston will see the opening of another international java house. Trung Nguyen is a Vietnamese coffee empire with over 1,000 coffee shops across Vietnam and China. As the brand undergoes a major international expansion, Trung Nguyen has opened its latest outpost in Houston.
Founded in Vietnam in 1996, Trung Nguyen has grown into the most recognized Vietnamese coffee brand in the world. Back in 2023, the brand opened its first U.S.-based cafe in Westminster, CA. With its Houston outpost in Bellaire marking the brand’s 10 U.S. location, Trung Nguyen plans to open as many as 100 stores across the United States.

The menu at Trung Nguyen is organized around three “coffee civilizations“: Ottoman, Roman, and Zen. Each feature unique flavors and brewing methods, ranging from coffee brewed in hot sand, to aromatic espresso-based options, and mindful, slow phin-drip methods.
Fan favorites at Trung Nguyen include Vietnamese Egg Coffee, that is, coffee topped with a custard whipped egg foam. Coconut Cream Coffee is also a top seller at Trung Nguyen, a lighter option that blends Vietnamese coffee with homemade coconut cream. Special Vietnamese White Coffee or Bac XIu is another favorite and hit for those with a sweet tooth. The cafe also features a wide variety of match lattes.
Trung Nguyen also offers a variety of NY-style SOLE cookies at its Houston location.

Beyond its menu, Trung Nguyen adheres to “The Tao of Coffee” philosophy. Created by founder, Dang Le Nguyen VU, this philosophy is built on compassion, sustainability, and humanity.
