EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A proactive surveillance operation by an El Paso County constable’s deputy led to the arrest of a 37-year-old man wanted on a criminal warrant tied to an alleged $3,000 loss.
The deputy conducted surveillance in the 1100 block of N. Cotton after receiving prior information that Justin Martinez had an outstanding warrant for deceptive trade practice with prior convictions.
The warrant stemmed from an El Paso Police Department investigation in which the victim reported about $3,000 in financial loss.
During the operation, the deputy saw Martinez leave the location in a vehicle.
The vehicle was later stopped during a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Bay Court, where deputies made contact with Martinez and confirmed the warrant.
Martinez was taken into custody without incident and transported to the El Paso County Jail.
The Fast Track Booking System was used for an expedited booking process, and Martinez was processed and later released in accordance with booking procedures.
