A motorcyclist who was critically injured in a crash Thursday in Arlington died at a hospital on Sunday, police said.

Arlington police officers responded to the crash, which involved a motorcycle and a parked vehicle, in the 1200 block of Woodbrook Street on March 19, police said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist and his passenger, who both had been thrown off the motorcycle. Both of them were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators determined that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Woodbrook Street when the driver tried to avoid an animal in the roadway, lost control and hit the parked car, according to the release.

The man who was driving the motorcycle died at the hospital on Sunday, March 22, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify him.

The passenger, who police said was wearing a helmet, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
