Police said the homeowners heard a loud boom outside their house. Then they made a grisly discovery.

HOUSTON — Police say a person was found shot to death after they crashed into a parked car outside a southwest Houston home Saturday night.

This happened around 9 p.m. at a home on Briar Terrace Drive, which is in a neighborhood south of the Westpark Tollway and west of Beltway 8.

According to the Houston Police Department, residents heard a loud boom outside their home and found that someone had crashed into their car. HPD said as the residents approached the driver, they saw the person had been shot multiple times and called police.

Officers pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

HPD said they don’t yet know what led up to the incident or where the shooting took place.  They said the homeowners did not recognize the driver.

Investigators canvassed the neighborhood to gather any possible surveillance video.
