The Dallas Stars look to keep their excellent start to division play going when they head to Nashville to take on the Predators Sunday night.

It’s the second game of a back-to-back for Dallas following its 3-2 comeback win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

Bottom line

The Dallas Stars broke out of a four-game slide with a 3-2 win against the Hurricanes. Before that, the Stars had only managed one point from their four previous games after a 3-0 start.

Dallas is 4-3-1 overall and 2-1-0 on the road. They have won eight of their last 12 games against the Predators, including five of their last six in Nashville.

Nashville is 3-1-1 at home and 4-3-2 overall. The matchup with Dallas is the fourth of a five game homestand for the Predators, which has included wins over Vancouver and Los Angeles and a loss to Anaheim.

Sunday’s contest is the first of three games this season. The Stars and Predators will play again on Nov. 8 in Nashville and Feb. 28 in Dallas.

Top performers

Stars: Mikko Rantanen leads the Stars with 10 points (3 G, 7 A) through eight games. Wyatt Johnston is just behind with nine points, including five in the last five games.

Predators: Ryan O’Reilly leads the Predators with eight points (5 G, 3 A) in nine games played. Goaltender Juuse Saros has also been good early in the year with a 2.68 GAA and .909 save percentage.
