HOUSTON — A major crash involving an overturned 18-wheeler has shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 45 near Greens Road early Tuesday, creating significant traffic impacts for drivers in north Houston.
According to Houston TranStar, the crash happened at 3:25 a.m. on the southbound side of I-45 just before Greens Road. Authorities say the incident involves an 18-wheeler that overturned and is leaking approximately 6,000 gallons of water.
All southbound mainlanes are currently blocked, along with the left and right shoulders, leaving no through access for drivers heading toward the city from that stretch of the North Freeway.
