Miles for Moody set to take place in April

  • March 25, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Miles for Moody walk for brain and spinal cord injury awareness is happening on Saturday, April 25 from 11 am to 1 pm at the LCU track & soccer complex, located at 2402 Eileen Blvd.

Here’s what the event organizers say about the event.

“Miles for Moody was born from a simple and powerful desire: to meet the real, everyday needs of patients and their families who are recovering from life-altering brain injuries. While insurance often covers some portions of medical care, it frequently does not cover essential equipment, accessibility modifications, or other resources that can dramatically improve a patient’s quality of life.

We have seen firsthand the discouragement families feel when learning that recommended equipment or necessary home modifications come with significant out-of-pocket costs. Many of these families are already navigating mounting medical bills, job loss, high insurance premiums, and the emotional toll that accompanies a traumatic injury.

That’s where Miles for Moody steps in. We want funds readily available to ease those burdens and ensure patients have what they need to return home safely and successfully. More than just a fundraiser, Miles for Moody reflects the heart of the community it serves. The warmth and hospitality West Texas is known for shines through as neighbors rally around neighbors. It is a day marked not only by movement on the track, but by compassion, unity, and hope. Past patients and community members are invited to participate, donate, and show their support for local families working toward recovery and independence. Every step taken and every dollar raised helps bridge the gap between medical care and real-world needs.“
