One Dallas restaurant failed inspection and roaches were found at four others in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data from March 8 through March 21 and 365 inspections.
Dallas’ health inspections function on a 100-point system, with a score of 100 considered perfect and anything below 70 considered failing. Restaurants that fail inspection require a re-inspection within 10 days.
One restaurant failed inspection:
Chubby’s Restaurant & Bakery, located at 7474 South Cockrell Hill Road, had a score of 67.
Six food establishments require re-inspections within 30 days:
Flaming Buffet, located at 11722 Marsh Lane, had a score of 70Taboo Lounge, located at 1418 North Riverfront Blvd, had a score of 70Veracruz Cafe, located at 408 North Bishop Ave, had a score of 71Amie’s African Kitchen And Grill, located at 4515 Village Fair Drive, had a score of 75Gazeebo Burger, located at 5950 Royal Lane, had a score of 75La Nueva De Zacatecas/Tortilleria La Purisima, located at 14902 Preston Road, had a score of 79
Roaches were observed at four locations:
Taboo Lounge, located at 1418 North Riverfront Blvd, had a score of 70. Inspectors observed ant and roach insecticide being stored near a coffee container.Buckner Shell, located at 2438 South Buckner Blvd, had a score of 80. Inspectors found live roaches in the kitchen.Fletcher’s Corny Dog, located at 3828 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, had a score of 99. Inspectors found a live roach in the walk-in cooler.Montelongos Home Run Pizza, located at 718 West Jefferson Blvd, had a score of 99. Inspectors found dead roaches in a trapping device under a three-compartment sink.
