EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A man accused of assault was arrested with the help of K9 Dex and a drone.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) said deputies responded to Millbrose Road, southwest of Fountain, on Sunday around 10:15 p.m. after receiving information about a wanted suspect.
Deputies said they were responding to arrest 28-year-old Toree Spikes, who had a warrant out for his arrest for assault with a deadly weapon related to an incident on March 20, where he allegedly injured a victim with a fire extinguisher.
The sheriff’s office said they surrounded the property due to the indication that he could be armed.
According to deputies, a drone found Spikes and a second man, 34-year-old Kolby Beaver, hiding in a field, and K-9 Dex helped bring them into custody.
Spikes is being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Deputies said Beaver was arrested on warrants for theft and shoplifting on a $2,800 bond.
