Austin’s city manager is inviting residents to a series of budget town halls to build on conversations about community priorities started last year.

The city announced the budget sessions in a Tuesday press release. According to the release, the city is hosting a “Your Budget, Your Priorities: Community Conversations with T.C. Broadnax” series of budget town hall meetings starting on March 25.

The conversations will build on what the city manager learned during his budget sessions with the community last year. According to the press release, Broadnax believes engaging with Austinites early in the budget process to identify community priorities is important.

That’s why city staff starts working in the spring to identify city and community needs while drafting the city manager’s proposed budget, which he presents to City Council in mid-July. After review, analysis, and amendments, council adopts the city budget in mid-August.

These community events provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about the budgeting process and offer feedback to the city manager before the development of the Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget.
