SAN ANTONIO – A Castle Hills Police detective fired his weapon after being threatened with an “edged weapon” while responding to a hit-and-run on the North Side.

The incident happened around 8:30a.m. Wednesday on the access road of Northwest Loop 410 and San Pedro Avenue.

Castle Hills Police Chief Gary R. McHone said the officer was responding to a hit-and-run in the area when an individual approached with an edged weapon.

The officer then fired his weapon. It is unclear whether the suspect was injured.

No officers were injured.
