Dallas’ NorthPark Center was evacuated Wednesday afternoon with several police units responding to the area.

‘Security incident’

Dallas police posted on X they are investigating a “security incident” in the 8600 block of North Central Expressway. Police asked drivers to expect traffic congestion near the intersection of North Central Expressway and Northwest Highway.

Dallas police said they were called to NorthPark at 11:53 a.m. due to a reported evacuation called in by mall management. Police officers were asked to help get people out of the mall, cover exits of the mall and help direct traffic away from NorthPark.

What we don’t know

It is unclear what prompted this evacuation, whether any person was injured and when the mall would re-open.
