ARLINGTON, Texas — A 6-year-old girl has died following a crash involving a distracted driver on I-20, according to the Arlington Police Department.
The incident occurred early Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at approximately 12:29 a.m. near the US 287 interchange. Officers responded to a collision between a 2014 Nissan Sentra and a dump truck in the westbound lanes. Investigators believe the Sentra’s driver was distracted by activity in the back seat, leading to the crash.
The driver and two children in the Sentra were transported to local hospitals. The 6-year-old girl, despite being in a car seat, was later pronounced dead from her injuries. Investigators suspect she may not have been properly secured with a seatbelt.
The driver and the other child sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the dump truck driver was unharmed. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
