LUBBOCK, Texas (March 25, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University junior guard Kennedy Chappell added to her growing list of postseason accolades Wednesday, earning Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division II All-America Honorable Mention recognition for the 2025-26 season.
Chappell becomes the 11th WBCA All-America honoree in program history and extends LCU’s streak to 10 consecutive seasons with at least one player receiving WBCA recognition.
A day after being named CSC Academic All-District, Chappell’s national honor further highlights one of the most complete seasons in NCAA Division II women’s basketball. The Heath, Texas native was previously selected to the D2CCA All-South Central Region First Team while also earning All-Lone Star Conference First Team, All-Defensive Team and All-Academic honors.
Chappell led Lubbock Christian in every major statistical category, averaging 15.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game while starting all 31 contests. Her 473 total points ranked second in the Lone Star Conference, and she paced the league in both free throws made (144) and attempted (186), with her makes ranking third in the South Central Region.
One of the most efficient guards in the conference, Chappell shot 51.0 percent from the field—second-best in the LSC—while producing 27 double-figure scoring performances, including 10 games with 20 or more points. She also recorded seven double-doubles and earned both LSC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors during the season.
Chappell’s impact extended beyond scoring, as she also led the team in assists (105) and steals (57), anchoring both ends of the floor for a Lady Chaparrals squad that finished 23-8 overall and 15-5 in Lone Star Conference play.
Her performance helped guide LCU to its 10th NCAA postseason appearance, continuing the program’s sustained success at the national level.
The WBCA All-America teams are selected by the WBCA NCAA Division II Awards Committee from nominations submitted by member coaches and recognize the top players across the nation for their performance throughout the season.
